DJI’s competitor, Yuneec, unveiled the H850-RTK drone. This commercial class drone is prepared as a challenger to the DJI Matrice 300 RTK with a cheaper selling price and can fly longer.
The Yuneec H850-RTK comes with a hexacopter drone design. To fly this drone relies on a system of six propellers. Like other hexacopter drones, the design includes two foldable legs.
Designed as a commercial drone, the Yuneec H850-RTK is claimed to be able to carry an additional load of around 3.8 kg. Enough to transport goods or a compatible camera system.
The Yuneec H850-RTK can be installed with Yuneec’s commercial drone camera ecosystem. Among them are the Yuneec E90X camera system which carries a 1-inch CMOS sensor with a resolution of 20 megapixels, the Yuneec E30Zx which comes with a lens capable of 30x optical zoom and the E20TVx camera with a special sensor for thermal imaging.
For its flying ability, the Yuneec H850-RTK can fly at a maximum speed of up to 72 km/hour. The duration of the flight can be up to about 65 minutes relying on two batteries.
Slightly longer than its closest competitor, the DJI Matrice 300 RTK, which can fly up to about 55 minutes. Not to forget the Yuneec H850-RTK is also equipped with navigation system support that relies on GPS, BeiDou and Galileo sensors.
With its newest remote, the T-1 smart controller, the Yuneec H850-RTK can fly up to 8 km. This remote controller runs the Android 10 operating system and is equipped with a 7-inch screen.
The screen brightness level is up to 1000 nits. So, it is ideal for outdoor use. For energy intake, this remote relies on a rechargeable battery that can be used for up to 7 hours.
The Yuneec H850-RTK will be available in August 2022. Prices for the Yuneec H850-RTK start at US$9204. Cheaper than the DJI DJI Matrice 300 RTK which starts at US$10,000.
