Asus has officially launched the Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition. This new laptop comes with an Intel i9-12900H Gen 12 processor coupled with Intel Iris Xe integration. Besides having a high-performance processor, what makes it very attractive is its futuristic design.
The Taiwanese company first teased the Zenbook Space Edition at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. One of the most striking things about this laptop is the 3.5-inch mini screen on the cover. this screen is here to show notifications, animations, and other customizable text (such as date and time).
There are also various engravings all over the laptop’s chassis, which should make the device look like a spaceship design. In addition, Asus says that this laptop meets the United States Space System Command Standard (SMC-S-016A), which means it can withstand extreme vibrations and high and low operating temperatures.
The screen has a touch OLED panel technology measuring 14 inches with an aspect ratio of 16:10. The refresh rate of this screen is 90 Hz and the response time is 0.2 ms. Other specs include 32GB RAM, a number pad built into the touchpad, a fingerprint sensor on the power button, four USB-C ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port. Its keyboard is very ergonomic so it is very comfortable to use.
Asus says this laptop is here to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Asus laptop to be sent into space. The price of the Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition is USD 2,000. Considering its price, unique design, and futuristic feel, it seems like the Zenbook is more of a collectible than used for work.
