Garmin has released software version 15.16 for the Venu 4, Venu X1, and vivoactive 6 smartwatches, bringing new wellness tools, updated translations, and several bug fixes. The rollout marks the second stable update for the Venu 4 since its launch in September and follows earlier firmware updates for the other two 2025 models.
The highlight of the update is the Health Status glance, a new feature that compiles key metrics from users’ most recent sleep sessions. It tracks heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), respiration, skin temperature, and blood oxygen levels, then compares them with average readings to provide an overview of overnight recovery. “This sleep-related feature shows your heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), respiration, skin temperature and Pulse Ox metrics collected when you last slept wearing the watch, with a comparison to your average scores,” Garmin said in its release notes.
Venu X1 users receive three additional watch faces, while all three smartwatch models gain a quality-of-life improvement allowing devices to be powered down without re-entering a passcode. Garmin also reduced the volume of the click sound that plays when starting a voice note, aiming for a more refined user experience.
The update resolves several technical issues, including one that could mute the speaker when answering phone calls and another affecting the display of notification numbers. It also fixes an error where the Evening Report displayed the wrong time. Garmin Connect Mobile Translations have been upgraded to version 3.10, although the company did not detail the user-facing changes.
Software version 15.16 is being distributed globally and will install automatically when devices sync with Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express. Users can also check manually by navigating to Main Menu > Settings > System > Software Update on their smartwatch.
