Garmin has released a new beta software update, version 15.08, for its Vivoactive 6 and Venu X1 smartwatches, introducing several fixes and modest enhancements aimed at improving usability. The rollout is limited to participants in the company’s beta program, which is open to users through a simple activation process.
The update places greater emphasis on stability rather than major new functions. Garmin has added a quick overview screen designed to summarize changes in health metrics and overall well-being, alongside three new watch face options. “Overall, the software update isn’t a major breakthrough in terms of new features,” the company noted in its release.
Among the fixes, Garmin addressed issues that previously caused devices to restart during music playback when interrupted by a call, as well as muted speakers in similar cases. Problems with notification displays, evening reports, and slow playback of voice notes have also been resolved.
Additionally, both smartwatch models now allow users to power down without re-entering a passcode, a change aimed at simplifying device handling.
The update remains in testing, and Garmin has not confirmed when version 15.08 will be broadly available beyond beta users.
