Garmin has rolled out beta software version 23.31 for several of its high-end smartwatches, including the Fenix 7, Epix, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2 models. The latest test build introduces minor improvements and focuses primarily on enhancing the reliability of inReach connectivity.
According to Garmin’s official changelog, version 23.31 delivers “enhanced stability for the inReach Remote feature,” which enables users to send messages, manage tracking, and activate SOS alerts through a connected inReach satellite communicator. The update follows version 23.28, released earlier this month, which addressed an issue affecting inReach messaging performance.

The beta release is currently available only to members of Garmin’s public testing program. Eligible users can receive the update automatically via over-the-air delivery or install it manually by navigating to the device’s Software Update menu.
As part of the ongoing beta phase, Garmin confirmed that ECG and Dive functionality remain disabled, consistent with previous test builds. The company has not yet indicated when a stable 23.xx firmware version will be distributed to all users.
