Garmin is preparing to introduce new features to its Connect+ subscription service, signaling an expansion of its premium offering launched earlier this year. The company discussed its plans during a recent earnings call, highlighting both the growth of the paid tier and its commitment to maintaining the free Garmin Connect platform.

The Connect+ service, priced at $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually, was introduced in March 2025 alongside the vivoactive 6 smartwatch. It currently provides enhanced Garmin Coach training programs, exclusive badge challenges, and expanded LiveTrack capabilities aimed at users seeking advanced performance insights.

Executives indicated that user response to the subscription has been broadly favorable, despite some criticism from customers in online forums. The company noted that the introduction of Connect+ aligns with Garmin’s investment in AI-based tools and data-driven fitness insights.

According to the company, several new functions are planned for Connect+ and will be exclusive to paying subscribers, though specific details have not been disclosed. Garmin emphasized that it will continue to update and enhance the free version of its Garmin Connect app for all smartwatch owners.

The timeline for the upcoming features has not been announced. However, Garmin’s strategy suggests a gradual shift toward offering more advanced capabilities under the Connect+ model, while keeping core functionality accessible to non-subscribers.
