Garmin is pushing forward with another beta update for its high-end smartwatch range, the Fenix 7 series, as part of ongoing efforts to refine its System Software 23.xx line. The new release, labeled Beta Version 23.24, arrives roughly two weeks after the previous Beta 23.22 and brings a fresh set of bug fixes.
The update, which follows what Garmin had initially hoped would be the final stable release of version 23.18, aims to correct several persistent issues identified by users. “Garmin has returned to the Fenix 7 series with a new beta update, almost two weeks after the company delivered Beta Version 23.22,” the company stated in its release notes.
According to Garmin, Beta Version 23.24 resolves unexpected shutdowns that could occur when users edited activity settings or configured watch faces. It also addresses an error that caused Tide Alerts to display incorrect data — an issue affecting marine and outdoor users who rely on accurate tidal information.
The company detailed that the latest patch includes three key fixes, following the four introduced in Beta Version 23.22. Garmin said the fixes are designed to improve system stability, noting that previous builds of the software “shipped with bugs” that prompted the continued beta phase.
While Beta Version 23.24 currently applies to the Fenix 7 Pro and select related models, Garmin has not confirmed when these changes will move to stable releases for other compatible devices, including the Enduro 2, Epix 2, Quatix 7, Marq Gen 2, and Tactix 7. For now, the company continues to test the improvements before a broader rollout.
