Garmin has begun distributing system software version 20.24 to users of its Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Pro, Fenix E, Enduro 3 and Tactix 8 smartwatches, introducing three bug fixes aimed at improving device stability.

The release follows the 20.23 beta update issued days earlier, which addressed an issue related to vibration patterns. The new stable version focuses on additional problems that some customers had reported, including software crashes. Garmin said one of the faults occurred “when maps were locked,” while another was triggered through the flashlight shortcut. A third issue prevented the SOS alarm countdown from playing correctly during sleep.

In a forum post announcing the update, Garmin described the rollout as gradual. “System software 20.24 is being deployed in phases,” the company said, noting that the update has reached “approximately 50%” of eligible customers.

Garmin did not specify when the rollout would be completed. The company also offered no indication of when new features might arrive for the Fenix 8 series, which includes 51mm models sold in Solar and Sapphire configurations.
