Garmin has begun rolling out a new beta software update to a selection of its high-end smartwatches, including the Fenix 8, Fenix E, Enduro 3 and Tactix 8 models, the company said, as it continues to refine features ahead of a broader release.
The update, known as beta version 21.15, follows an earlier beta released weeks ago that introduced features such as Battery Manager, Course Planner and a new Lifestyle Logging glance. Garmin said the latest release is limited to non-Pro models and is being distributed gradually, meaning not all eligible users will receive it at the same time.

In a post on the company’s forum, a Garmin representative said the release “was for non-Pro models only,” clarifying the scope of the update. Among the changes is a new navigation setting that allows users to turn off guidance prompts until they approach the next direction during a route.
The update also focuses heavily on stability improvements. Garmin said it fixed issues affecting the Snowboard activity, where users were unable to view runs, as well as potential crashes when scrolling through the Nutrition widget. Additional fixes address problems related to volume slider vibrations, third-party maps, Storm Alert notifications and a display bug affecting dive timers on Solar models.

Garmin said beta version 21.15 is being delivered over the air to compatible devices, including AMOLED and Solar variants of the Fenix 8 and Tactix 8. At the time of the announcement, the company estimated that the update had reached about 20% of eligible users, with wider availability expected as the rollout continues.
