Garmin has released a new software update for its premium Approach R50 portable golf launch monitor and simulator, adding several new features aimed at expanding practice and simulation options for users.
Software version 4.80 introduces a new play mode called On Course Practice, which allows golfers to attempt different shots on more than 42,000 courses worldwide. The update also adds a range of improvements to Garmin’s Home Tee Hero simulator, including the ability to select individual holes, disable the Lie Penalty setting and access additional controls such as mulligan, replay and shot metrics from previous attempts.

“This accessory, designed to help users improve their game,” now offers expanded practice and simulation capabilities following the update, Garmin said in release notes accompanying the software rollout.
