LG Electronics said it will introduce a new generation of its ultra-light Gram laptops at CES 2026, incorporating the company’s proprietary Exaone generative artificial intelligence model and emphasizing longer battery performance as it expands its premium notebook lineup.

The South Korean electronics maker said the LG Gram Pro AI 2026 will be powered by Exaone 3.5, a large language model designed to handle AI tasks locally on the device. According to LG, features such as My Archive are intended to analyze files stored on the laptop to enable local search functions and generate AI-assisted responses without relying on cloud processing.

LG said the new Gram models continue the brand’s focus on portability, with the 16-inch Gram Pro AI weighing 1.199 kg. The company said the laptop uses an advanced material known as Aerominum, which it describes as typically used in aircraft, to balance durability with a lightweight design. “The new LG Gram laptops continue the series’ lightweight tradition,” LG said in its announcement.

Battery performance is also a key selling point. LG said the 16-inch model is equipped with a 77 watt-hour battery that can deliver up to 27 hours of use on a single charge, adding that “just 30 minutes of charging” can provide more than nine hours of operation under certain conditions.

LG plans to introduce seven Gram models in South Korea on Jan. 6, including the Gram Pro AI, Gram Pro 360 AI and Grambook AI, as it brings AI-focused features across a broader range of form factors.

The announcement follows the launch of two Gram Pro models in July 2025, the 16Z90TR and 17Z90TR, which feature Intel Core Ultra processors and dedicated Nvidia graphics. LG’s latest move signals a deeper push into on-device AI as competition intensifies in the premium laptop market.
