A new Amazfit smartwatch appears close to launch following a major online leak revealing specifications, images and pricing for a model called the Amazfit Active Max. The device, previously referenced under the codename “A2557,” seems positioned as a successor to the Active 2 Square despite that model hitting the market less than six months ago.

According to leaked early retail data shared by tipster Roland Quandt, the Active Max is equipped with a 1.5-inch OLED display, notably larger than the 1.32-inch panel on the Active 2. Quandt noted that the screen resolution is expected to reach 480 × 480 pixels and described the bezels as thin or visually masked within the design. As he stated in his report, “the Active Max represents a size jump over the Active 2 with a 1.5-inch 480 × 480 panel.”

The device reportedly supports 50-metre water resistance and includes a 576 mAh battery, more than double the 270 mAh capacity of its predecessor. With the Active 2 already offering more than a week of usage per charge, industry observers expect the Active Max to target around two weeks of battery life, a key selling point among fitness-oriented smartwatch buyers.

Connectivity is said to include Bluetooth 5.3, GPS and NFC, combined with 4 GB of internal storage. These features place the model in the upper mid-range segment of the growing wearables market, positioning Amazfit to compete directly with fitness and lifestyle devices from Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi.

The leak further indicates a European launch price of €169.90. Based on Amazfit’s previous pricing patterns, analysts expect a U.S. retail price around $169.99. The company has not announced a launch date, but the emergence of promotional images and retailer specifications suggests that an official unveiling could be imminent.
