The new panel is the first QD-OLED display to combine a 360 Hz refresh rate with a vertical stripe, or V-Stripe, subpixel matrix. Samsung said the redesigned subpixel layout delivers sharper character edges, addressing a longstanding weakness of OLED and quantum dot displays for tasks such as document editing, coding and prolonged reading.

“Samsung has crafted what might be the best monitor for office work,” the article said, citing the combination of higher text readability with bright QD-OLED visuals, high contrast and a 0.03 millisecond response time that also makes the panel suitable for gaming.

Samsung plans to showcase the new V-Stripe QD-OLED panels at the CES 2026 technology exhibition in Las Vegas, which begins on Jan. 6. The company said the panels have already been ordered by monitor makers including Asus, Gigabyte and MSI, with mass production now underway.

The company said it overcame challenges related to higher power consumption and heat generated by the new vertical subpixel arrangement through improvements in organic material efficiency and panel design. These changes allow the display to reach up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness, exceeding earlier QD-OLED monitors such as Samsung’s Odyssey G7.

Samsung said its advanced QD-OLED technology has helped it secure about 75% of the global OLED monitor market, though final figures have yet to be confirmed. The company added that additional products using the new V-Stripe panels are expected to be announced by partner brands during CES 2026.
