The Pixel Notepad has a similar design to the recently launched Oppo Find N. Regarding the price, this folding phone from Google is claimed to be much more affordable than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Citing the NDTV Gadget page, Tuesday (18/1), the Pixel Notepad can be priced cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, which was launched at a price of 1,799 US dollars or around Rp. 25 million. Google’s foldable phone is expected to only be present in a limited market.
Meanwhile, in a previous report, 9to5Google said that the design of Google’s foldable phone is expected to be more like the Oppo Find N and not like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.
The publication found two animations in Android 12L Beta 2 that illustrate how to insert a SIM card into a device that looks like a foldable phone.
The first animation shows a phone with a different appearance from a regular bar phone, and there appears to be a hinge on the left side that indicates the device is folded.
The second animation shows the same insert animation but in a wider smartphone it shows the phone in its unfolded state. There’s also a joint at the top and bottom of the alleged Google Pixel Notepad depicting a hinge.
The foldable smartphone is expected to be equipped with the same Google Tensor SoC that powers the vanilla Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. But it’s likely to offer inferior cameras compared to the Pixel 6 series.
