WhatsApp is rolling out a handy new privacy feature. WABetaInfo announced this new feature that allows users to select certain contacts who cannot see their “Last seen”. According to reports, the new feature is coming to WhatsApp beta iOS or iPhone.
Reporting from TechSpot (18/4), this feature is an attempt by the company to add new privacy options for users. Currently, this feature is only available to some beta testers who are using the beta version of WhatsApp and will be released to other beta users gradually.
Last seen usually appears below the user’s name and displays the last time they opened the app. The time shown can be the hour, or the date if the user has not opened the application on that day. This feature has long been disabled, but users can’t select certain contacts who can’t see their last seen.

Not only Last seen, the update also allows users to hide the profile photo and the About section of the profile of certain selected contacts. Beta testers can access the feature by going to Settings > Account > Privacy and selecting “My Contact > Except” menu. After that, the user can exclude people from the contact list that appears.
It is not yet known when the feature will be rolled out publicly outside the WhatsApp beta.
