Capcom said its upcoming title Resident Evil Requiem is being developed under conditions different from those of Monster Hunter Wilds, and the company does not expect the same technical issues that affected the latter’s launch. The remarks were made during Capcom’s financial results Q&A for the first half of fiscal year 2026, where executives addressed concerns following Wilds’ performance at release. According to the company, development systems, gameplay structure and network architecture differ substantially, with Capcom noting in its briefing that it is building Requiem to run smoothly across a wide range of PC hardware.
The publisher linked the problems seen in Monster Hunter Wilds to the game’s scale and technical complexity. At launch, Wilds faced inconsistent frame pacing, shader compilation stutter, high CPU load on mid-range systems and occasional online connectivity issues. Capcom said work continues on performance updates and balance adjustments and reaffirmed that community feedback remains central to ongoing support.

Capcom said early reception for Resident Evil Requiem at recent game shows has been strong, and the company aims to surpass the initial sales performance of Resident Evil Village. It added that the announcement of the new title has already boosted interest in the wider franchise, with catalog sales for earlier Resident Evil games performing well in the first half of the year.
Beyond the Resident Evil series, Capcom reported steady catalog growth in the Monster Hunter franchise, citing in particular the continued performance of Monster Hunter Rise. The publisher also highlighted expectations for the mobile title Monster Hunter Outlanders, developed by TiMi Studio Group under licence, which it said will broaden international reach for the brand.
