Sony will release a major free update for Ghost of Yotei on November 24, adding an expanded New Game Plus mode, new progression elements and a suite of gameplay and accessibility improvements, the company said in a PlayStation blog post.
The update allows players to restart the campaign after completing the main story while retaining all gear, weapons, abilities and armor sets earned during the first playthrough. “Keep all gear, weapons, armor sets, and abilities from your first playthrough,” the original article stated, highlighting the returning progression as a core feature of New Game Plus.

New Game Plus introduces a higher difficulty tier and two new Trophies linked to its completion. Sony is also adding a new merchant, Masujiro the Melodious, who trades items for a new currency called Ghost Flowers. Players can exchange this currency for more than 30 cosmetics, including armor sets and weapon dyes, as well as 10 new charms designed to expand build variety. Existing weapons and armor receive an additional upgrade tier, offering further endgame progression.
The base game also receives enhancements, including the ability to replay select post-game activities once the campaign is completed. These missions now include a stats overlay that displays difficulty and completion time. Accessibility updates allow players to remap directional buttons.
Photo Mode has been expanded with shutter-speed adjustments, a composition grid and several new filters, giving players more tools for capturing cinematic images across Ezo.
