Google has launched extended repair programmes for several Pixel 9 Pro smartphones after identifying potential display defects in a small number of units, the company said in updated support documentation.
The initiative applies to the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but excludes the standard Pixel 9 and Pixel 9a models. The programmes come as Google prepares to release the Pixel 10a, following recent launches of the Pixel 10 series.

According to Google, some affected devices may show a “full-length vertical line spanning their displays,” while others could exhibit intermittent flickering. The original article added: “Google clarifies that these programmes cover devices exhibiting a full-length vertical line spanning their displays.”
The company stressed that only a limited number of units are impacted and all phones submitted for repair will be subject to an eligibility assessment. Devices with physical damage such as cracked screens or evidence of liquid intrusion will not qualify for complimentary repairs.
