Winter Burrow, a cozy survival-crafting game released on Steam in November 2025, is drawing growing attention from players as it appears on the platform’s “Popular New Releases” chart. Priced at $19.99, the game is currently offered at a 20% launch discount, bringing the price to $15.99 until Jan. 5, and has received a “Very Positive” user rating.
Developed around the idea that comfort is central to survival, the game casts players as a mouse returning from the city to find a childhood burrow destroyed. Players must rebuild the home and prepare for winter by gathering resources, crafting tools, knitting clothing and baking food, all framed as necessities rather than optional side activities.

The game’s narrative pushes exploration beyond domestic tasks. Players venture into a frozen wilderness in search of a missing aunt, encountering wildlife and local characters while gradually expanding a survival handbook that explains the world and its systems.
Unlike many survival titles that emphasize pressure and efficiency, Winter Burrow positions itself as a slower experience. Its Steam store description says it is a survival game played “at your own pace,” allowing players to customize their character, decorate their burrow and adopt flexible playstyles without constant time pressure.
The title spent an extended period in early access, during which developers adjusted survival mechanics and pacing based on player feedback before releasing version 1.0. With more than 1,500 user reviews and Steam Deck verification, Winter Burrow has so far found an audience among players seeking a softer take on the survival genre.
