Musnap has launched the Ocean C, a 7-inch e-reader featuring a colour E Ink display and support for Android applications, expanding its lineup beyond traditional monochrome devices. The tablet-style reader combines note-taking functionality with access to third-party apps through the Google Play Store.

The device is built around an E Ink Kaleido 3 panel capable of displaying 16 levels of greyscale and 4,096 colours. According to the product description, the screen offers “30% higher saturation compared with the Kaleido Plus” and delivers 300 pixels per inch (PPI) in greyscale mode, while colour mode operates at 150 PPI. A built-in front light is designed to improve readability in dim environments.

An optional stylus, sold separately, provides 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity for handwritten notes. The Ocean C includes pre-installed templates and handwriting recognition software that converts written input into digital text, positioning the device as both a reading and productivity tool.

Running Android 14, the Ocean C allows users to download e-reading and other applications, including services such as Amazon Kindle. It is powered by an unspecified 6-nanometre, eight-core ARM processor with a peak clock speed of 2.2 GHz, alongside 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a 3,000 mAh battery. The e-reader is available through retailers including Amazon for around $270.
