Developed by Edmund McMillen, known for The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy, in collaboration with Tyler Glaiel, the game has received an “Overwhelmingly Positive” user rating on Steam, with more than 3,500 reviews. The gameplay centers on breeding cats with inheritable traits and deploying them in tactical, turn-based battles against various enemies. Each cat has a distinct set of active and passive abilities, and offspring may inherit characteristics from parent units, adding a strategic layer to team-building.
Mewgenics is currently available with a 10% launch discount running through Feb. 24. Although it does not yet officially support Steam Deck, the game has modest system requirements, including 8 GB of RAM, 6 GB of storage and a quad-core processor released after 2014.
