Airtel has found itself embroiled in a controversy following claims by a dark web seller named xenZen, who alleged a significant data breach affecting over 375 million customers.

According to xenZen, sensitive information including phone numbers, email addresses, residential details, parental names, and Aadhaar IDs were compromised, valid through June 2024. Airtel, however, has vehemently refuted these allegations after conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.

“The claims of a data breach are completely unfounded,” stated Airtel in response to the accusations. The telecom company reassured its subscribers that their data remains secure and advised caution against sharing personal information online. Airtel emphasized its commitment to data security, noting ongoing efforts to protect customer information from cyber threats.

The controversy underscores growing concerns over data privacy and security in telecommunications. Airtel, a major player in the industry, highlighted its continuous monitoring and adoption of advanced technologies to safeguard customer data.

In light of recent events, the company affirmed its dedication to enhancing data protection measures to maintain customer trust and confidence.
