If you’re a Splinter Cell fan, we have good news. Recently, Ubisoft announced that it would be making several remakes of the game franchise.
Splinter Cell was launched in 2013. This means, the game has been on hiatus for approximately a decade. So, it’s only natural that fans yearn to play this game on the latest devices.

This news comes directly from the producer of the game Splinter Cell, Matt West. He said that currently Ubisoft and the developer have considered doing a remake.
“I think this game should be a remake and not a remaster. Even though we’re still in the earliest stages of development, what we’re trying to do is make sure the spirit of the early game remains intact, in every way that gives Splinter Cell its early identity,” said Matt, as quoted from the Ubergizmo page (16/12).
On the other hand, he said that his team is doing development from scratch, so users will get a lot of improvements. “So when we build it from scratch, we’ll update it visually,” he said.

“We’re also going to add some design elements to match the player’s comfort and expectations, and we’re going to keep it linear like the original game, instead of making it an open world,” continued Matt.
The game will be developed by Ubisoft Toronto, which is the developer of the game Far Cry 6. The game will be built using the game engine Snowdrop, which is also used in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Ubisoft’s upcoming Star Wars game.
There’s no information yet on when the game will be released, but for now it’s still in the early stages of development, so it may take more time before the game becomes playable.
