The Sony Inzone M9 and M3 gaming monitors are 27-inch gaming monitors with an IPS LCD panel. The Inzone M9 has 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz (120Hz via HDMI). For enhanced dynamic contrast, it uses Full Array Local Dimming. It peaks at 600 nits of brightness and is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified. Plus, this monitor has 95% DCI-P3 coverage.
The Sony Inzone M3 has a resolution of 1080p, but increases the refresh rate to 240Hz (including via HDMI). The panel lights up at the edges and has a peak brightness of 400 nits (DisplayHDR 400). This display offers 99% sRGB coverage.
Both displays are calibrated at the factory to achieve color accuracy goals. It also supports HDR10 and HLG HDR types. As for refresh rates, they support G-Sync and HDMI 2.1 VRR for variable refresh rates (24Hz minimum). They also boast a gray-to-gray transition time of 1 millisecond.
Both monitors are equipped with two HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4. Plus, they have a built-in USB hub – one Type-B in, three USB Type-A out. This port is for connecting keyboard, mouse and controller because the built-in KVM (Kernel Based Virtual Machine) functionality will switch the USB connection to follow the video input.
This device will allow users to connect PC and PlayStation 5. There are some PS5-specific features such as Auto HDR tone mapping and automatic genre picture mode (eg switching to Cinema mode when playing movies). There are also PC features, such as special PC software that allows users to change individual monitor settings.
The two monitor stands allow for height and tilt adjustment for maximum comfort. The center pillar acts as a cable conduit to keep things tidy. The M9 also has an RGB LED strip on the back to match your lighting setup.
The Sony Inzone M9 is available for pre-order for $900 and is coming this summer. The Inzone M3 will launch at the end of this year at a price of US$ 530.
