Outdoor sports technology innovation continues to develop rapidly. Such as the Descent G1, which was just released by Garmin as the first series of dive computers with solar power and innovative diving technology to help maximize the user experience in the water.

This series is equipped with health and fitness features for 24 hours in seven days, smartwatch functions to optimize activity, as well as optional solar charging, wrapped in a tough and dashing design.

Dive computers from Garmin have been trusted by scuba diver and freediver users, in supporting activities in the water and on land when exploring a variety of adventure characteristics. Especially for diving fans in Indonesia, this series will be a support for exploring the underwater world of Indonesia, which has previously been named the world's best scuba diving destination according to the 2021 Dive Travel Awards.

“Whether you are looking for your first dive computer or want to support your active lifestyle, the Descent G1 series is the ideal companion for all types of divers who are enthusiastic about a multi-sports smartwatch that can be used for all aspects, including life on land,” said Dan Bartel. , Garmin Vice President of Global Consumer Sales

The Descent G1 Solar, he said, was designed based on Garmin's innovative diving technology with solar charging that allows users to enjoy their time without being distracted by the Descent G1's battery running out.

On the other hand, Garmin's Q4-2021 financial report shows that dive computers from Garmin are in great demand as evidenced by sales growth in Indonesia in the diving segment which reached 350% in 2021 ago. Indonesia as a maritime country that makes water sports very popular is one of the strong factors for this segment to grow very well. This makes the Descent G1 a new choice for fans of underwater activities.

Featuring an easy-to-read, high-contrast display on a 45mm watch, the Descent G1 series comes into the line of tailor-made diving products, both in terms of form and function. Water rated at 10 ATM (100 meters) and tested to technical standard EN133319 for diving compliance with a leak-proof inductive switch and sapphire lens, the Descent G1 Series is rugged and ready for exploration on and below the surface.

Available in a variety of colors and compatible with Garmin QuickFit® bands, divers can alternate long or short straps of their choice to wear with their wetsuits.

The versatile design allows the diver to use this watch for even more formal events.

The Descent G1 series features a rechargeable battery of up to 25 hours in dive mode, up to 3 weeks in smartwatch mode, and up to 4 months in smartwatch mode with the solar charging model. This ability clearly supports diving lovers to explore underwater better.

The Descent G1 Series features new recreational divers via experienced technical divers with support for multiple dive modes, both single and dual gas dives (including air, nitrox, trimix and 100% O2), meter, apnea, apnea hunt and closed circuit rebreather. .

The G1 series also includes a 3-axis digital compass and depth alert with vibration. Right on the wrist, divers can view depth, dive time, temperature, NDL/TTS, rate of ascent/descending, gas mixture, PO2, N2 loading, safety decompression/stop information and time, which can be customized according to user requirements.

Descent G1 will automatically mark surface entry and exit points in the water using multi-GNSS satellite support and record them in the Garmin Dive companion app so divers can easily review detailed analysis of each dive activity, including maximum depth and bottom time.

The Garmin Dive application can be used to configure settings on this Descent G1 series and users can also plan future trips by viewing popular locations that have been rated and reviewed by other users.

The Descent G1 series features a wide range of health features including advanced sleep monitoring with sleep scores and built-in apps for indoor sports as well as GPS with your favorite sports, including swimming, hiking, running, cycling, golf, yoga and surfing.

With the integrated Surfline Widget, surfers will see a precise visual representation of tide, wave height, wind and surf quality rating information. The Descent G1 Series will track and measure performance with Garmin's full suite of advanced fitness features such as VO2 Max, Fitness Age, Training Status, Recovery Time, HIIT Workouts and Daily Suggested Workouts.

Through Garmin technology, this series also does not leave the basic features integrated, such as call notifications, SMS, calendar reminders, social media notifications, breaking news, and more when paired with your compatible smartphone.
