Logitech has introduced a new audio solution tailor-made for Meta Quest 2. This speaker is called the Logitech Chorus and is claimed to deliver “a new level of immersive and ultra-realistic audio. The chorus features rotating speakers and an open-back form factor that lets ambient sound in.
Logitech designed the Chorus speaker to slide and slide onto the Quest 2 headset strap so that the speaker is positioned above the user’s ear. In fact, those speakers make the VR device look similar to the Valve Index, which features two close-up speakers.
The Chorus is compatible with the built-in straps that Quest 2 ships with and Meta Elite straps. Chorus claims that its open-back driver ensures that users can hear “the big moments and the smallest details”.
And while this additional speaker accessory isn’t a genuine part of the Quest 2, it’s meant to stay in place instead of being removed after each use.
That speaker plugs into the headset’s USB-C port and draws power from the Quest 2 itself, but because it’s designed to stay connected, it supports USB-C passthrough. This means that users can keep their headsets charged or can connect other devices while Chorus is also connected.
However, Chorus has a bit of noise isolation and may not be the best choice for those who want privacy while watching movies or exploring new experiences in VR.
“Chorus enhances the compatibility and convenience of Meta Quest 2, while allowing those who like long gaming sessions to stay immersed in their favorite games and experiences through audio integration in a convenient design made for VR players,” said Logitech head of AR/VR, Vadim Kogan. The price for the Logitech Chorus is USD 100.
