MediaTek is reportedly preparing a new chipset based on the 6nm architecture. Currently, the MediaTek processor lineup is divided into two main lines, namely Helio and Dimensity.
Quoted from GizChina, MediaTek’s new chipset will offer eight processing cores, two of which are Cortex-A76 at 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at the same clock speed.
While the graphics processing system relies on the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. This processor will offer support for Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 108MP camera, and let you record 2K resolution video at 30fps.
The internet network will still be 4G, and it doesn’t support 5G yet. Reportedly, a smartphone with a MediaTek 6nm chipset will be launched before the end of June 2022. Unfortunately, the name of the 6nm chipset made by MediaTek is unknown.

Earlier at the end of last year, MediaTek released its flagship Dimensity 9000 processor, which is able to compete with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It is hoped that smartphones with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 will arrive on the market in the near future.
In addition to the Dimensity 9000, the MediaTek chipset that is also being discussed is the Dimensity 8000. As the name implies, this chipset is below the Dimensity 9000 level. Surprisingly, the performance offered by the Dimensity 8000 is on par with Qualcomm’s chipset, Snapdragon 888.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8000 benchmark results were shared by well-known leakers Digital Chat Station. From the screenshots he uploaded, it can be seen that the Dimensity 8000 won the AnTuTu Benchmark score of 820,230 points.

For comparison, smartphones based on the Snapdragon 888 chipset get AnTuTu benchmark scores of around 750 thousand to 880 thousand points.
The Dimensity 8000 is a 5nm chipset, so it has the same performance as last year’s Qualcomm flagship. According to Digital Chat Station, the new MediaTek chip will come with four high-performance Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.75 GHz and four Cortex-A55.
GPU Mali-G510 will be relied on to take care of the graphics. According to Arm, this GPU is twice as fast and 22% less power efficient than the previous design.
From the shared AnTuTu Benchmark test results, the Mali-G510 GPU scores 315 thousand points. For comparison, the Adreno 660 as part of the Snapdragon 888 and 888+ earns from 300 to 325K points. The GPU in Snapdragon 870 even shows a score of 250K points.
