An industry insider has suggested that Resident Evil Requiem may include a campaign slightly shorter than Resident Evil 4 while still exceeding the length of Resident Evil Village. The game, scheduled for release on Feb. 27, 2026, remains largely unannounced in terms of structure and scope, with Capcom yet to confirm any details.

The claim came from insider DuskGolem, who said on social media platform X that the campaign “should be a bit shorter than Resident Evil 4 but longer than Resident Evil Village,” according to his post. The remake of Resident Evil 4 typically takes around 16 hours to complete its main story, while Village averages close to 10 hours, based on estimates from tracking site HowLongToBeat.

For the length of Resident Evil Requiem, the producer said it'd be "roughly" the length of RE:4 Remake, the director said it'd have a "RE game" amount of content.

A campaign of this scale could offer players additional time to explore new areas of Raccoon City and encounter a wider range of characters and threats. The suggested duration points to a potentially expansive narrative without matching the length of the series’ larger entries.

Playtime can vary widely depending on the approach taken by players. Some may focus solely on the main objectives, while others spend time on exploration, collectibles or optional encounters. Completionist runs of earlier titles have ranged from roughly 38 hours for Village to more than 60 hours for Resident Evil 4.

Capcom has not commented on the reported figures and has previously declined to address speculation surrounding character appearances, including rumours involving Leon S. Kennedy. More details regarding the game’s structure and length are likely to emerge as the launch date approaches.
