Hangar 13 has released a Free Ride Update for Mafia: The Old Country, adding new modes and gameplay elements designed to deepen exploration of the game’s 1900s Sicily setting. The update, available at no extra cost, offers a separate set of activities that complement the main campaign.
According to the developer, the update draws inspiration from earlier Free Ride modes in the franchise, offering self-guided challenges involving combat, stealth and racing. Completing these tasks rewards players with in-game currency that can be used to unlock items such as outfits, weapons and vehicles.

The studio highlights first-person driving as a key new feature, designed to enhance immersion while exploring the Valle Dorata or participating in races. Players can also access a Photo Mode to capture areas of the map and new visual details introduced with the update.
The Free Ride Update adds further options including a classic film-style visual mode and a higher difficulty setting aimed at players seeking a more demanding experience. Items earned through Free Ride can also be used during the main story.

Some mission areas can be revisited under new conditions, and the update includes additional paths, routes and hidden elements for players to discover as they explore.
