Dimensity 9000 Beats Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 in Geekbench 5

When all three come to phones, which chipset is the most powerful?

Leading industry leaker, Ice Universe, has just shared the latest results. The results show the performance of each of the current flagship chips.

Looking at the charts, one can easily tell that the A15 Bionic from Apple is still in the lead, both in single and multi-core scores.

However, if we look at the Android options, things start to get a little more heated. There is a clear winner in multi-core scores, and that is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000. In fact, the numbers are closer to Apple’s A15 than any other Android variant.

The Dimensity 9000 also managed to win in single-core scores. The Exynos 2200 appears to be lagging behind in this particular Geekbench 5 test, with scores very similar to the 888 from 2021.

While it’s easy to draw conclusions from raw mathematical calculations, chips often turn out differently once they’re inserted into smartphones.

Like all processors, no matter whether mobile or not, to perform at their best, they need proper cooling.

We should start seeing phones equipped with Dimensity 9000 in the next few months. OnePlus, Xiaomi, Motorola, and even Samsung are all expected to launch models that rock with MediaTek hardware. Only then can we see if any of them really manage to make the most of the Dimensity 9000.
