Samsung Announces Exynos 1280 Chipset, made with 5 nanometer fabrication

Samsung has officially introduced the latest . This chipset has previously debuted in mid-range phones such as the Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy M33.

Exynos 1280 is made with 5 nanometer fabrication. The chip consists of eight CPU cores which includes two Cortex-A78 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 power-saving cores.

While the GPU is handled by the Arm Mali-G68. Then in the connectivity section there are sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G.

This system on chip has Fused Multiply-Add (FMA) which offers better efficiency and extra battery life. There is also a neural processing unit (NPU) to enhance the artificial intelligence (AI) function in the camera.

The Samsung Exynos 1280 can run a Full HD + resolution screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Furthermore, there is an Image Signal (ISP) that can handle a camera with a maximum resolution of 108 MP, and three additional sensors with a resolution of up to 16 MP.

Samsung also introduced multi-frame image processing to make photos clearer with less noise. Then there is Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and 4K video recording at 30fps (frames per second).

The Exynos 1280 processor is likely to be increasingly used for several A or Galaxy M series phones in the next few months.
