Xiaomi will reportedly use the Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) panel supplied from Samsung Display for its upcoming foldable smartphone. Previously, another Chinese company, OPPO, was also reported to be revealing its first foldable phone, named OPPO Find N, with this panel.
Ultra Thin Glass is a foldable display panel pioneered by Samsung in partnership with Corning in 2020. The Galaxy Fold/Flip series to date is the only model to use a UTG panel
Meanwhile, Chinese manufacturers use CPI or Colorless Polymide as a screen cover for folding models, such as the Huawei Mate X released 2019, Mate X2, and Mi MIX Fold. But obviously, CPI is not as durable as Samsung Display’s UTG panels.

TheElec reports that the upcoming Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will feature an 8.01-inch Samsung Display OLED panel with UTG as well as a 6.52-inch TCL CSOT panel for the front screen. Xiaomi initially used a foldable display panel provided by TCL CSOT for the Mi MIX Fold.
Apart from Xiaomi, vivo is also reportedly using a screen panel supplied by Samsung Display. Huawei is said to have considered securing a foldable OLED panel from Samsung Display as well. However, the plan was postponed until the first half of this year.
