MediaTek Dimensity 1050, which was launched last May, is here for the first time for smartphones, namely on the Motorola Edge (2022) which was just released in the United States. The successor to the Motorola Edge (2021) is the first 5G phone to be powered by the Dimensity 1050.
The Dimensity 1050 is a 6nm chipset consisting of two 2.5GHz Cortex-A78 CPU cores, six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 CPU cores, and the Mali-G610 MC3. The chipset carries the first mmWave 5G connectivity support for mobile phones.
The Motorola Edge (2022) features a 6.6-inch OLED panel display that offers Full HD+ and HDR10+ resolutions. Unlike the previous model, the phone now has a fingerprint scanner on the screen.
For the camera, Edge (2022) is equipped with a 32MP front camera and a 50MP main camera on the back. The rear camera is supported with OIS, also accompanied by a 13MP ultra wide lens and a 2MP depth lens.
The Dimensity 1050 on this phone is combined with 6GB and 8GB RAM options, while the internal storage consists of 128GB and 256GB. The phone runs on Android 12 with My UX on it. For durability, the battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, which is accompanied by 30W TurboPower charging and 15W wireless.
The phone offers Edge (2022) other features, such as dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, USB-C port, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, IP52 and NFC. There’s also a physical SIM slot and an e-SIM, but no 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Motorola Edge 2022 is priced at $498. Unfortunately, this phone has just been launched in the United States and there is no official information regarding the global launch yet.
