Official Instagram introduces Remix feature to all videos. With this, users can duet all videos in their timeline.
Actually, this Remix feature was first released on Instagram in March 2021. At that time, the feature only applied to Reels content, which was eventually renamed Remix Reels.
Citing Republic World, Monday (24/1/2022), Instagram Remix allows users to create videos due to other users’ videos.
This gives them new ways to interact, react, collaborate, or or respond to other users’ content on the platform.
When finished, the remixed video will be displayed alongside the original duet video. This is similar to the Duet feature that is already on TikTok.
However, remixable videos are content uploaded after the feature is announced. This means that old videos before January 20, 2022 still cannot be remixed.
Here’s how to make Remix on Instagram:
- Open Instagram and look for a video in the Timeline
- Click the three-dot menu on the top right
- Choose Remix this video
After that, the original video will appear on the left side along with the new video that you want to duet. Users can create new videos or upload videos that have been recorded in the gallery.
After that, Instagram will direct users to preview. Before being shared on the timeline, the video can be added with effects, stickers, or audio.
